And to think, this is what our youth looks up to

I recently was brought to the attention of one of the dumbest and most disconnected thoughts ever to reach a persons mouth.  The best part is it is on youtube for the world to see.  Go to the following link to see the response given by the Miss Teen USA contestant.

The Taco Bell that sucks!

Lindsey and I have been loyal costumers of the Taco Bell franchise.  It is a simple, cheep and until recently good place to eat.  Well at least one Taco Bell location has fallen from the list of "good eaten" places.  This is the Taco Bell located on Redwood Road and roughly 4200 south.  I don't know what the employees do there, but I know of a few things that they don't do.  The lobby is always dirty, so they don't clean.  The last couple of bean and cheese burritos that Lindsey has ordered there have been more like onion burritos with a hint of Beans and cold cheese.  And don't bother going to the drive through unless you like only getting part of the order that you paid for.  They must be government employes since only 1 out of 4 people participate in doing the little work that is done there.  Needless to say, we have decided that if we get a craving from Taco Bell we will not be satisfying it at that place any time soon.

I want warm weather

Well it has been cold for some time now and I am ready for summer.  Lindsey and I want to go for a bike ride on Saturday and again on New Years Day, but it is just so cold we don't know if we can handle it.  Hey at least we got to have a White Christmas again this year.  Speaking of Christmas, Lindsey and I enjoyed visiting family and friends this year.  Between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we drove at least 150 miles.  We also saw I Am Legend on Christmas Day, wow that was an intense movie, though we enjoyed it, I would not encourage young kids to see it; I am still trying to remind my self it was just a movie and I wont be going out side in the dark for a while.  You will have to see it to truly understand my fear.

On Friday night Lindsey and I went to Temple Square.  love going to the temple even if we don't have a chance to go in, just being on the grounds there is a sense of peace and warmth.  If you have not had a chance to go to see the lights yet this year I would encourage you to go.

Harry Potter and the order of the Phenix

Well today is a big day the movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phenix is finally out on video.  As you can probably guess, I have a copy but not only that but I also have it on my ipod and iphone.  What can I say I am a geek on so many levels.  In my opinion this is the best Harry potter movie that has been released.  I am still torn however with which book is my favorite, while I love the book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phenix, I just can't get enough of the last book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  I have set up a survey on this blog for you to vote on your favorite Harry potter book and movie.

Last week end my dad and I went to St. George for another bike ride.  This ride was to be a 126 mile or 200 kilometer brevet.  We started just after 7:00 am in St. George from the south end of town on the bike path.  The temp was about 45 degrees and it was scheduled to rain.  The first 62 miles were great.  We only had a little rain and it was plenty warm,  thats when it all changed.  Suddenly the wind picked up and the fatigue set in.  I have never experienced a head wind like we did on this ride.  There was a 20 or so mile stretch with a slight decline, we should have been averaging at least 23 mph but with the head wind we were lucky to break 10 mph.  At mile 100 I was ready to give up, but the problem was that the car was still 25 miles away and unfortunately it does not drive its self.  After weighing the options of either suicide by hanging or suicide by biking I chose the bike (note this is only because I didn't have any rope).  We finished at about 8:00 pm and I was pooped, this was truly a tough ride but a good one to remember.
